House System

Home House System

At Vivekanandam Vidyashram, we believe in nurturing leadership qualities, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility among students through a well-organized Student Leadership Programme. This is achieved through the Student Council, Student Cabinet, and an active House System—all of which encourage participation, initiative, and school spirit.

Student Council

The Student Council is made up of the bonafide House Representatives and plays a vital role in the student leadership framework of the school. It serves as the voice of the student body and acts as a bridge between students and school administration.

  • Members of the council are nominated by the teaching staff based on their academic performance, conduct, leadership qualities, and sense of responsibility.
  • The council is expected to lead by example and participate actively in school events, discipline, assemblies, and community service.
Student Cabinet

To enhance student involvement and leadership at every level.

House-Level Appointments (for each house):
  • House Captain
  • House Vice-Captain
House System

The House System is an integral part of the school’s curriculum and co-curricular structure. All students from Classes I to XII are grouped into four houses, each named after a great Tamil dynasty that contributed immensely to the cultural and historical richness of ancient Tamil Nadu.

Each house is guided by a House Master, supported by House Captains, Vice-Captains, and Prefects.

The House System aims to:
  • Promote healthy competition
  • Foster leadership and teamwork
  • Encourage students to participate in a wide range of co-curricular activities
  • Build house spirit, responsibility, and sportsmanship
